Site construction

This site is based on WordPress, which I am loving more and more and more.  With WordPress I don’t have to worry about whether the code will work on my new pages, on updating the menu list every time I add a page, or with any of this techie stuff; I just have to write my content, press a button and - Bam! - I’m done.

Site Theme

I’m especially pleased to be using the Happy Cyclope theme by Mirko Humbert, a Swiss graphic designer.  I’m not going to say that there aren’t better themes out there but this gives me exactly what I want for this web site: two column layout, a simple menu structure running down the left hand side and large, easy to read text.  Thanks Mirko!

Site Plug-ins

I’ve got a whole bunch of plug-ins here, too many to list (and probably likely to change over time and new plug-ins become available).  I do want to encourage anyone who uses plug-ins to reward the developers with cash, site credits or whatever.

Photographs

The photos of me were taken by Stephen Iles from Capture Photography.  Stephen has his own studio in Swindon and took a whole load of pictures that I’m now using for a variety of purposes, including:

  • My speaker’s business card
  • My publicity shots in the press room and on my About page
  • Flyers for my speaking events
